House of BargainsHOUSE OF BARGAINS

Better Way, as a truly "grass roots" recovery organization, has always been fortunately able to attract significant food donations and supplies from local firms, individuals and food donation programs.  In order to inventory, store and distribute it properly, Better Way rented the first of several warehouse sites in 1994.  Almost all (70-75%) of the food needed is acquired through donation and processed through the warehouse.Shortly after rental of our first warehouse, donations of used furniture, appliances and household items began to come in and be sold for a small profit.  More recently, donations of new "scratch and dent" furniture contributed by major companies have been enthusiastically received by our low income customers, whose purchases have steadily increased the profit, all of which directly supports Better Way's programs.  It should also be noted that all Better Way clients' clothing and personal needs are supplied through the warehouse operation. This year, after searching for many years for just the right thrift store/warehouse site, Better Way was able to purchase and renovate an 11,000 sq foot. building with ample parking and storage areas at 100 N.E. 79th Street here in Miami.  The thrift store, "Better Way House of Bargains", is open six  days per week with a full line of new and used furniture, decorative accessories and other household goods for sale.
