Since its establishment, Better Way has evolved into one of S.Florida’s most respected leading recovering agencies. From its current location, Better Way offers a successful recovery program within a full continuum of care. Based on the principles of the 12 steps of AA and NA, clients find in Better Way the expertise, quality care, and leading authorities on addiction and recovery issues. Currently, Better Way is one of the top programs addressing not only those issues relating to Florida’s Co-Occurring initiative, but issues also dealing with the criminal justice system as a progression of the disease of addiction. By offering a full array of medical services (including Psychiatric Care) and family group therapy, you will find we are involved in many aspects of addiction treatment and recovery through:
Our organization supports these initiatives because treatment works and makes a difference in the lives of individuals, families and entire communities. In short, our mission today remains the same as our early founders had dreamed - to help alcoholics and addicts who need help.
BETTER WAY RECOVERS LOST LIVES
Productive recovery replaces crime, family violence, poverty, sickness, abuse, chaos, homelessness and hopelessness. Every person who recovers affects at least five others. In recovery, their impact for good in their home and community is incalculable in terms of regained potential.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Better Way believes that addiction is a disease and that the personal and spiritual growth required for lifelong recovery comes through integrating the 12 Steps and the Principles behind them into daily life.
BETTER WAY’S ‘CONTINUUM OF CARE’
Better Way’s ‘continuum of care’ means that clients may move in any direction through its various programs based on their progress, or lack of progress, in accomplishing individual treatment goals. All programs offer individual, group and family therapy sessions, psycho education, relapse prevention, life skills training, 12 Step Groups, etc. Additionally, clients participate in special social, vocational, educational, medical, leisure, community service and other activities. The needs of the dually diagnosed, HIV positive and/or those medically or physically disabled are met with specialized, appropriate programming.
